COLUMBIA, Ky. – The No. 2-seeded Lindsey Wilson women's soccer team defeated Point Park (Pa.) 3-0 in the NAIA National Championship Opening Round Saturday at Blue Raider Stadium.

Yvonne Ploeg scored twice for the Blue Raiders (16-3-0) and Delfina Santellan chipped in a goal. Lindsey Wilson had a 4-1 edge in shots on goal against the Pioneers (10-8-2).

Santellan got the Blue Raiders on the board first in the 28th minute after powering through a defender she was able to beat the goalkeeper to the far post. Ploeg who came on as a sub in the first half scored in the 35th minute. Ivana Damnjanovic sent a ball into the box off a corner kick and Ploeg was able to get the ball into the net.

Ploeg scored the lone goal in the second half off a penalty kick after a foul in the 18-yard box. Johanna Henriksson had one save on the night and recorded her sixth shutout of the season.

The Blue Raiders advance to the NAIA National Championship Site in Orange Beach, Alabama. Lindsey Wilson faces 15th-seeded Columbia (Mo.) on Tuesday, Nov. 29 at 10 a.m. CT in the second round of the tournament.
