Box Score MIDWAY, Ky. -- Charles Sutton scored a career-high 31 points to lead the Lindsey Wilson men's basketball team to a 89-74 road win tonight over Midway (Ky.) at Marshall Gymnasium.
Sutton connected on 11-of-15 shots while grabbing 10 rebounds for his first double-double of the season. He is the first Blue Raider to score 30 points since Tony Menton poured in 33 against Cumberland (Tenn.) during the 2014-15 season.
Lindsey Wilson (3-0) sprinted out to a double-digit advantage in the first half en route to leading by as many as 14 points (34-20) in the first 20 minutes.
Midway (0-3) climbed back within two points (49-47) with 14:53 left in the game only to have the Blue Raiders steal back the momentum with a devastating run to end the upset bid.
Marshall Griffith scored five straight points to start a 20-5 run for the Blue Raiders. Lindsey Wilson led by double figures the remainder of the game en route to the 15-point win.
Sutton's accuracy helped Lindsey Wilson shoot 48.4 percent (31-of-64) from the field for the game. The Blue Raiders also relied heavily on their free throw shooting to remain perfect on the season. Lindsey Wilson made 18-of-20 freebies in the game.
Dmitry Utolin added 17 points while Griffith chipped in 15 points off the bench.
Bryson Harris led Midway with 19 points.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 2 p.m. CT on Sunday, Nov. 6, as the Blue Raiders host Ohio State-Mansfield in their home-opener at Biggers Sports Center.
