COLUMBIA, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson men's basketball team shook off a slow first half, sprinting past Boyce (Ky.) in the second half of Thursday night's 86-50 home victory.

The Blue Raiders (9-5) shot 62.5 percent in the second half en route to out-scoring the Bulldogs (5-9) 50-25 in the final 20 minutes.

Marshall Griffith keyed the second-half surge, scoring 18 points after the half as part of a career-high 24-point performance.

The sophomore guard shot 10-of-13 from the field on Thursday including 2-of-4 from behind the three-point arc.

Led by Griffith, Lindsey Wilson's second unit scored 42 points against Boyce.

The Blue Raiders took a 36-25 lead into the locker room on the strength of a 10-0 run in the final 2:08 of the half.

Dmitry Utolin sparked the run, scoring six points in that span. The senior from Dubna, Russia finished the first half with 12 points on 4-of-6 shooting.

Lindsey Wilson shot 44.1 percent in the first half, missing all nine of its shots from deep. Boyce connected on 34.5 percent of its first-half shots, including a 4-of-12 mark from behind the arc.

Lindsey Wilson finally broke the seal from deep at 10:29 in the second half when Griffith knocked down the deep ball. The Blue Raiders ended the game shooting 22.2 percent from three-point range.

The Blue Raider surge continued into the second half as Lindsey Wilson scored the first six points of the half to build a 41-25 advantage.

Trey Stewart's field goal with 17:21 left in the half brought the Bulldogs to within 11, but they could pull no closer as the Blue Raiders scored 43 of the game's last 61 points.

The Bulldogs committed 21 turnovers in the game, which led to 31 Lindsey Wilson points. The Blue Raiders also enjoyed a 60-22 edge in points in the paint.
