COLUMBIA, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson men's swimming team finished in second place in the final standings following the third and final session of the LWC Fall Frenzy on Saturday evening at the Holloway Center Natatorium.

The Blue Raiders racked up 990 total team points at the invitational, finishing only behind event winner Lindenwood-Belleville (Ill.) with 1,109.50 points. Milligan (Tenn.) took third with 426 points, Campbellsville (Ky.) placed fourth with 352.50 points and Bethel (Tenn.) took fifth with 214 points at the five-team event.

The 200-yard meter relay squad of Clemens Paetzold, Jonas Mueller, Jose Prado de Lima and Iker Larzabal teamed up to start the day with a Blue Raider win, capturing first place in the event with a national A cut. Mark Richard, Joel Reyes, Travis Durocher and Zachary Patzer also swam in the event, finishing sixth, but swimming quick enough to earn a national A standard as well.

Mueller racked up a pair of individual race wins throughout the day, winning both the 100-yard and 200-yard breaststroke events. Both winning times were also good enough for national B standards.

Paetzold added a win to his day in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of one minute and 59.30 seconds, quick enough for a B cut. He nearly added a second win in the 100 back, but fell less than a second behind the winning time. His effort of 54.37 seconds did qualify for an A standard.

Larzabal captured third in the 200 free with a B cut and took second in the 100 free with another B cut, finishing .06 seconds off the winning time.

Prado de Lima narrowly missed out on a B cut in the 100-yard butterfly, clocking in at 55.21 to finish fourth, just half of a second off a national standard. He also placed second in the 1650 free.

In the 800 free relay, Paetzold, Prado de Lima, Patzer and Larzabal grabbed second place and a national A standard before the quartet closed out the night with an A cut victory in the 400 free relay. Mueller, Durocher, Richard and Michael Peck just missed on adding an A cut in the 400 free but missed out on the qualifying time by less than a second.

The Blue Raiders return to the pool for dual season on Oct. 1 against Cumberlands (Ky.).
