Box Score MARIETTA, Ga. -- Lindsey Wilson women's soccer continued its scoring surge tonight with a 7-1 win over host Life (Ga.) at Lupo Family Field.
Tonight's game marks the second consecutive outing the Blue Raiders have scored seven goals. The seven goals match a season high. The 14 goals over the last two matches are one goal better than Lindsey Wilson's output through the first 11 games.
Also for a second straight game, seven different Blue Raiders notched a goal in the win.
Emelie Liljered opened the scoring in the third minute with her team-leading fifth score of the season. Veronica Kurtz doubled the Blue Raiders' lead in the seventh minute, giving Lindsey Wilson (6-4-3, 4-1 in the Mid-South Conference) all the goals it would need in the game. Emma Gustafsson assisted each of the first two goals.
Delfina Santellan and Amara Safuan added Lindsey Wilson goals in the 25th and 34th minutes to push the Blue Raider lead to 4-0.
Life's Klaudia Cancino provided the lone goal of the game for the Running Eagles (4-8, 1-4) in the 41st minute to trim the deficit to 4-1 at the half.
Gustafsson added a goal to her two assists as part of a three-goal second half for the Blue Raiders. Emma Lindell and Ollie Hensley contributed the other two goals in the half to cap the game's scoring.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 5 p.m. CT on Friday, Oct. 20 as the Blue Raiders host Cumberlands (Ky.) at Walter S. Reuling Stadium.
