RICHMOND, Ind. – Eighth-ranked Lindsey Wilson women's basketball defeated Tennessee Wesleyan 70-53 Saturday at the First Bank Richmond Classic.

The Blue Raiders (2-0) had four players in double figures led by Kayla Styles who scored a game-high 17 points and grabbed nine rebounds. She also added four assists and four blocks. Teanna Curry added 11 points and Reagan Turner scored 10. Devin Cheatum recorded a career-high in points with 10 on 4-of-6 shooting. Haven Stone recorded career-highs in rebounds with 10 and eight points.

Lindsey Wilson outshot the Bulldogs (0-1) 38.7 to 28.2 percent and limited Tennessee Wesleyan to just 17.2 percent from the three point line. The Blue Raiders held a 52-41 edge in rebounds while the Bulldogs had a slight 26-24 advantage in bench points.

The Blue Raiders opened the game on a 7-0 run capped off by a Hannah DeBruin three pointer. Tennessee Wesleyan answered right back with a 5-0 run to cut the lead to 7-5 with 6:11 remaining in the first quarter. The Bulldogs cut the lead to 15-13 with 2:17 to play in the first quarter. Lindsey Wilson held an 18-14 lead after the first quarter.

After a made basket by Madison Walkup to start the second quarter, Lindsey Wilson went on a 10-0 run to increase its lead to 28-16. The run was propelled by both Curry and Cheatum who each recorded a three pointer. Tennessee Wesleyan closed out the first half on an 8-2 run to trim the Lindsey Wilson lead to 34-30.

Back-to-back baskets by Styles helped Lindsey Wilson begin the third quarter on a 7-0 run to increase the lead to 41-30. After a Styles basket made it 51-39 with 1:27 remaining in the quarter, the Bulldogs scored the last four points to cut the lead back to single digits at 51-43.

The Blue Raiders outscored Tennessee Wesleyan 19-10 in the fourth quarter connecting on 46.2 of their shots in the quarter. Lindsey Wilson shot 4-of-8 from beyond the arc in the quarter with Heidi Huffman making two three pointers while Turner and Cheatum each made one.

Gina Dick led Tennessee Wesleyan in points with 12 while Hannah Trout and Kaitlin Simon chipped in with 11 apiece.

The Blue Raiders are back in action on Monday for an exhibition against Tennessee-Martin at 6 p.m. CT at the Elam Center.
