LONDON, Ky. – The No. 18-ranked Lindsey Wilson men's golf team captured first place at the two-day Mid-South Conference Spring Tournament at the Crooked Creek Golf Community.
The Blue Raiders shot an 18-over 306 at the par-72, 6,902-yard course on Tuesday to finish at 22-over 598 (292-306).
The 18-over was the second-lowest team score posted on Tuesday. Only Pikeville (Ky.) – 17-over 305 – shot better on the day.
Pikeville finished the tournament in second place at 47-over 623 (318-305).
With the result, Lindsey Wilson clinched the MSC regular season crown. The Blue Raiders also finished second at the conference's fall tournament.
Rasmus Broholt Lind took medalist honors after defeating Union's (Ky.) Erik Hermanson in a sudden-death playoff. The two both carded 36-hole scores of 3-over 147, but Lind defeated Hermanson after making par on the third hole of the playoff.
Lind shot 3-over 75 on Tuesday after posting an even-par 72 on day one. The freshman from Oddor, Denmark scattered five bogeys on Tuesdays and carded two birdies on holes 12 and 18.
Federico Navarro joined Lind on the all-tournament team and missed the playoff by just one stroke, finishing the tournament at 4-over 148 (74-74). The senior finished the tournament first in par-5 scoring at 4-under.
Alex Durham recorded a 10-over 82 on Tuesday to finish in a two-way tie for 10th place with Campbellsville's (Ky.) Justin Riffle. Durham carded six bogeys in the second round and two double bogeys.
Frederik Willer finished in a four-way tie for 12th at 11-over 155. The freshman followed up a 2-over 74 on Monday with a 9-over 81 on Tuesday.
Clayton Bradshaw rounded out Lindsey Wilson in a six-way tie for 16th at 12-over 156. Bradshaw carded a 4-over 76 on Tuesday and was the only Blue Raider to improve upon his score to par on Tuesday.
