No. 5 Women's Soccer ties with Olivet Nazarene 0-0 on Friday

BOURBONNAIS, Ill. - The fifth-ranked Lindsey Wilson soccer team tied with Olivet Nazarene (Ill.) 0-0 on Friday at Snowbarger Athletic Complex.

The Blue Raiders (1-1-1) and the Cougars (1-1-1) combined for 45 shots. Olivet Nazarene outshot Lindsey Wilson 29-16 holding a 15-5 edge in shots on goal.

Hannah Schrage, Veronica Kurtz and Amara Safuan all recorded three shots in the game. Schrage led the way for the Blue Raiders with two shots on goal.

Sophomore goalkeeper Jovana Ivanovic recorded 15 saves setting a new program record for saves in a game. Ivanovic surpassed former Blue Raider Lisbeth Skjodt who recorded 11 saves in a game during the 2006 season.

In the first half Lindsey Wilson recorded 10 shots while Olivet Nazarene had nine. The Blue Raiders recorded all five of their shots on goal in the half while the Cougars registered four shots on goal.

Olivet Nazarene fired 14 shots in the second half with seven going on goal. The Cougar defense held the Blue Raiders to just five shots in the half while allowing none on goal.

In the first overtime both teams recorded a shot. Lindsey Wilson was not able to get a shot off in the second overtime while Olivet Nazarene recorded five shots getting three on goal.

Hannah Ondrey led the way for the Cougars with eight shots and seven shots on goal. Lauren Harrigan had five shots with two on goal and Jessica Schmidt also registered two shots on goal.

The Blue Raiders are back in action on Tuesday against No. 6-ranked Baker (Kan.) at 7 p.m. CT at Walter S. Reuling Stadium.
