Huffman scored the first six points of the game for No. 10-ranked LWC as she started hot from beyond the arc, nailing a pair of 3-pointers. Trailing 8-10, Lindsey Wilson scored the next seven points to take a 15-10 lead, their largest of the game. No. 3 Campbellsville went into a scoring lull where the Tigers missed eight-consecutive shots from the floor, but LWC struggled offensively and was unable to create any additional separation in that span. The Blue Raiders eventually led 17-16 at the end of the first quarter.
The second quarter saw the lead exchange hands multiple times, with LWC leading by as many as two after a 6-0 run, and Campbellsville leading by as many as four, the Tigers taking a 33-30 edge into halftime.
Lindsey Wilson shot the ball well at 50.0 percent (10-20), including a trio of 3-pointers in the half. Campbellsville fired up 23 more shots from the floor in the first half, but shot just 32.6 percent (14-43) from the floor and 3-for-12 from 3-point range. Despite the poor shooting percentage, the Tigers were able lead at the break after crashing the boards and forcing LWC miscues. Campbellsville turned nine offensive rebounds into 11 second-chance points while the Blue Raiders did not collect a single offensive rebound. The Tigers also forced LWC into 14 turnovers in the first half.
The third quarter was more of the same, the two sides trading the lead back-and-forth and each hitting a dry spell from the floor. A pair of Curry free throws and a Turner 3-pointer followed by a pair of free throws put LWC back in front on three separate occasions, but the Tigers had an answer for each basket as the game went to the fourth quarter tied at 46-46.
The Blue Raiders quickly fell behind to start the fourth before Huffman shot LWC back in front 53-52 with another 3-pointer. Campbellsville then scored six-straight to move ahead 58-53, the largest lead of the game for the Tigers. Another Huffman 3-pointer helped jumpstart a 7-2 run that saw LWC take a 60-59 lead with 3:24 to play, but that would be the final lead of the contest for the Blue Raiders.
Lindsey Wilson suffered two crucial miscues in the final minute that helped Campbellsville turned a 1-point advantage into a 5-point lead. After a Styles bucket made it 65-64, the Tigers missed a shot but grabbed an offensive rebound and scored to make it 67-64. LWC turned the ball over on the ensuing possession and two Tiger free throws made it 69-64 with 17 seconds to play. Following an exchange of free throws and one missed Tiger free throw, LWC had a chance to tie it, but Curry's contested half-court heave from the sideline came up short as Campbellsville survived with a 3-point victory.
Lindsey Wilson finished the contest shooting 42.9 percent (21-49) with seven made 3-pointers while Campbellsville shot 37.5 percent (27-72) with four threes. LWC also made just 19-of-31 free throws and turned the ball over 22 times which Campbellsville turned into 20 points while also scoring 16 second-chance points off of offensive rebounds.
