Box Score NEW ORLEANS, La. -- No. 15-ranked Lindsey Wilson women's basketball struggled offensively in the second half in an 82-74 setback to No. 17 Loyola (La.) today at The Den.
After hitting over 61 percent of their shots in the first half, the Blue Raiders shot just 25 percent (8-of-32) after the break to drop to 10-3 this season. All three losses have come to Top-25 teams.
Conversely, Loyola overcame a 10-point halftime deficit thanks to making 17 of its 30 shots (56.7 percent) in the second half to improve to 8-2.
Jynea Harris led three Blue Raiders in double-digits with a career-high 28 points. Reagan Turner added 16 points while DeAsia Outlaw chipped in 15. Loyola's Kaila Anthony poured in a season-high 34 on 11-of-15 shooting, including making seven of her nine 3-point attempts.
The Blue Raiders built as much as a 13-point lead (38-25) in the first half before settling for a 10-point advantage at the break. Harris and Outlaw led Lindsey Wilson in the first 20 minutes with 12 points each.
After Lindsey Wilson extended the lead back to 13 in the early stages of the third quarter, Loyola began to chip away at the deficit. The Wolf Pack took a 60-58 lead with just over one minute left in the quarter -- their first lead since the opening minutes of the game.
Harris responded with a three with 57 seconds left in the quarter to give Lindsey Wilson a 61-60 entering the final stanza. Harris made a career-high five 3-pointers during the game.
Tay Cannon opened the scoring for the Wolf Pack with a pair of free throws in the first minute of the fourth quarter. The two freebies gave Loyola a lead it would not relinquish. The Wolf Pack extended their lead to as many as 11 before closing out with the 82-74 win.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 3 p.m. CT on Thursday, September 19, as the Blue Raiders travel to Mobile (Ala.) in Mobile, Alabama.
