Men's Basketball Falls in the Battle of Highway 55; Lose 90-76 to Campbellsville

COLUMBIA, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson men's basketball team dropped the first installment of the Battle of Highway 55 this season against Campbellsville (Ky.) by a final score of 90-76 at Biggers Sports Center. The loss moves the Blue Raiders to 3-5 on the season and 1-4 in the Mid-South Conference.

Lindsey Wilson struggled from the field in the first half connecting on just 33 percent of their shots including a 1-of-13 mark from beyond the arc. The first half effort plagued the Blue Raiders as they trailed by 10 at the break and never threatened in the second half to ultimately fall by 14 points.

For the game, Lindsey Wilson managed a 43.5 percent mark from the field but the Tigers (6-3, 4-2 MSC) were slightly more efficient at 46.8 percent. The major difference in the game came from three-point range as Campbellsville knocked down 10-of-26 attempts while LWC managed just a 3-of-20 mark.

Colen Gaynor managed his third career double-double dropping a game-high 21 points and 11 boards. Ryan Friday just missed out on a double-double, finishing with 14 points and nine rebounds as Elijah Jordan added 14 points and Payton Cundiff had 12.

Four Tigers scored in double-figures as Brayden Sebastian paced the Tigers winning effort with 20 points.

The Blue Raiders are back on the court on Monday, Jan. 4, when they travel to Lebanon, Tennessee to take on the Phoenix of Cumberland University at 5:30 p.m. CT.
