Men's Swimming Bests Campbellsville 35-14

COLUMBIA, Ky. - The Lindsey Wilson men's swimming team defeated Campbellsville (Ky.) 35-14 on Wednesday for the second time in five days. The Blue Raiders won 14 of the 10 events.

A podium sweep in the 50-yard freestyle began the meet for the men as Tyler King claimed his first of four victories with a time of 21.96. King, James de Goede, Bryce Rice, and Chase Hickman participated in the following race, the 200-yard freestyle relay, and added another win for the Blue Raiders as the team stopped the clock at 1:28.33.

A few minutes later, Reece Kincaid recorded a provisional standard of 4:21.73 in the 400-yard individual medley. Hickman followed with a victory in the 100-yard butterfly at 53.60.

A time of 2:01.44 in the 200-yard backstroke gave de Goede his second win of the meet. Soon after, Tyler Buffel claimed the top spot in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:02.79.

A posted time of 1:37.92 increased Lindsey Wilson's winning streak to four as de Goede, Rice, Hickman, and King once again won a relay event, this time being the 200-yard medley relay. King scored his fourth and final victory in the 500-yard freestyle thanks to a 5:12.37.

Buffel capped off the Blue Raider win streak at six by being the first swimmer to finish in the 200-yard breaststroke at 2:17.61. Two races later, Hickman claimed a fourth win in the 200-yard butterfly by notching a time of 2:01.63.

Will Thilwind grabbed the final first-place finish for the Blue Raiders. The sophomore garnered a provisional standard of 53.00 in the 100-yard backstroke.

Next up for the Lindsey Wilson men's swimming team is the Mid-South Conference Championships from February 4-6 at the Kingsport Aquatic Center in Kingsport, Tennessee
