Box Score CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson men's basketball team fell to rival Campbellsville (Ky.) 73-64 in Mid-South Conference road action on Thursday evening.
The Blue Raiders opened the game just 4-of-17 from the floor to spot the Tigers a 26-9 lead across the first 12 minutes of action. Campbellsville ultimately pushed their lead to as many as 20 with six minutes to play, leading 33-13, and their largest lead of the half.
The sluggish start plagued the Blue Raiders effort all night as they failed to ever trim the Tigers lead to less than nine points at 73-64 as time expired. Campbellsville took a 37-23 lead into the halftime locker room and kept their foot on the gas in the final frame, leading by as many as 23 points.
Lindsey Wilson shot 40 percent from the floor to Campbellsville's 42 percent while the Tigers bench contributed greatly in the win outscoring LWC 43-17. Rebounds were slightly in favor in the Tigers at 41-38 as CU cashed in on 12 points at the charity stripe to the Blue Raiders two.
Three Blue Raiders finished in double-figures scoring as Elijah Jordan went 7-of-12 from the field for 15 points and five assists. Payton Cundiff added 12 points as Colen Gaynor went for 11 points and eight boards.
Lindsey Wilson returns to the court on Saturday, Feb. 6, when the Blue Raiders take on Georgetown (Ky.) at 4 p.m. CT at Biggers Sports Center.
