Five Indoor Track & Field Student Athletes Compete In Day Two of National Championship

BROOKINGS, S.D. – Five members of the Lindsey Wilson Indoor Track & Field team took part in the second day of the NAIA Indoor Track & Field National Championship, held at the Sanford Jackrabbit Athletic Complex.

Today's competitions featured mostly preliminary events before tomorrow's finals. The Blue Raiders did take part in two finals today however as on the women's side, Luna Senica competed in the long jump while Jelle Golbach competed in the high jump on the men's side.

Senica got things started on the day with a 5.45-meter jump to place second in her flight and 14th overall in the competition. As for Golbach, it wasn't his day as he failed to register a jump on the afternoon.

In the track events, Jozlen Brisbon competed in the 60-meter run preliminaries finishing sixth in her heat with a time of seven point nine-four seconds and 35th overall.

Meredith Johnson, who competed in the 3000-meter run, also placed sixth in her heat with a time of 10:20.59 and 11th overall in the prelims.

Finally, Jaylun Wallace took part in the 400-meter run finishing sixth in his heat with a time of 50.11 and 23rd overall in the prelims.

The NAIA Indoor Track & Field National Championships will continue tomorrow from Brookings, South Dakota.
