COLUMBUS, Ga. – The Lindsey Wilson men's swimming team claimed three more NAIA All-American honors on the final day of the NAIA National Championship to finish in sixth place at the event.
Fabio Martin produced a runner-up finish in the 1,650-yard freestyle when he crashed into the wall at 15.55.47. Will Thilwind picked up his second individual all-american honor when he took fifth place in the 200-yard backstroke. The junior finished with a time of 1:49.40. Both marks by the Lindsey Wilson swimmers were new program records.
James de Goede qualified for the B finals following his preliminary time of 46.19 seconds in the 100-yard freestyle. He later improved his time to 46.16 seconds in the finals to finish in ninth place.
Siaka Weidenbaum also made the B finals, doing so in the 200-yard butterfly when he raced his way to a time of 1:55.06 in the prelims. He touched the wall at 1:54.29 in the finals to take 12th place. His mark was also a new program record.
Reece Kincaid, Malte Ahrens, Tyler King, and De Goede closed out the event with a seventh-place finish during the 400-yard freestyle relay. The pairing touched the wall in 3:07.83.
Keiser (Fla.) won the event with 742 points.
The Blue Raiders finished the event with eight NAIA All-American honors and in sixth place.
