PINE MOUNTAIN, Ga. – The Lindsey Wilson men's golf took third place at the Skyhawk Invitational on Tuesday. The result marks the fourth time this season the Blue Raiders have claimed a top-3 finish.
Lindsey Wilson finished the event with a 904 (298-305-301). The event was being played at Callaway Gardens, the Mountain View course a par-72, 7,054-yard design.
As a team, the Blue Raiders managed the fourth-best scoring average on par-3's at 3.37 and the second-best on par-4's at 4.30. Lindsey Wilson racked up the third most pars and birdies for the tournament with 148 and 34, respectively.
Reinhardt (Ga.) took the team title with an 890 (300-297-293) as tournament host Point (Ga.) finished five strokes ahead of LWC in second with an 899 (298-308-293).
Janik Hawlitzky posted the highest Lindsey Wilson finish in a tie for 14th place. He scored a 227 (76-77-74). He managed a 3.25 scoring average on par-3's and a 4.83 mark on par-5's, playing the longest holes at 2-under par for the week.
Callum Burns and Alfie Yearsley finished in a tie for 21st. Burns managed a 229 (76-76-77) as Yearsley posted a 229 (73-74-82). Sebastian Sandin took 28th place as Emil Gruhn rounded out the Blue Raiders in 31st place. The pair fired a 230 (73-82-75) and a 231 (78-78-75), respectively.
Lindsey Wilson returns to the course on March 19-20 when they host the Blue Raider Invitational at The Pines at Lindsey Wilson.
