COLUMBIA, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson men's golf team finished in fourth place at the Mid-South Conference Championship on Tuesday after three rounds of play. The Blue Raiders posted an 898 (299-303-296) after playing their best golf during today's final round.
The event was played at Bowling Green Country Club, a par-72, 6,852-yard design.
Sebastian Sandin managed the best Blue Raider finish, posting a 217 (70-73-74). He played his opening round at two-under and in a tie for first place but slid to fourth place during the second round and finished the event in that same place. Sandin managed 37 pars, seven birdies, and one eagle for the championship.
Janik Hawlitzky also cracked the top-10, finishing in a tie for seventh place. He posted a 223 (75-70-78).
Cumberlands (Ky.) won the team title with an 870 (294-267-300) as Tennessee Southern took second with an 891 (298-295-298). Campbellsville (Ky.) finished just ahead of the Blue Raiders with an 894 (300-296-298).
Callum Burns tied for 20th moving up five spots during the final round following a 229 (77-79-73) as Emil Gruhn tied for 26th with a 232 (77-81-74). Shane Henderson rounded out the Blue Raiders scoring in a tie for 35th place with a 237 (79-83-75).
Upon the completion of the event, Lindsey Wilson assistant coach Chris Butler was named the conference's assistant coach of the year.
Lindsey Wilson now waits to see if they will earn an at-large bid into the NAIA National Championship field.
