HANOVER, Ind. – On Saturday, senior Meredith Johnson ran a second-best time of 19:42.2 to help guide the Blue Raider women's cross-country team to a third-place overall finish out of six programs at the Hanover Invitational, hosted by Hanover College.
Johnson's ninth-career five-kilometer performance of under 20 minutes came only 13 seconds shy of the meet's top mark of 19:29.2.
Nevertheless, the returning all-conference selection was one of two top ten individual placements by the Blue Raiders, as Alyssa Sharp turned in a time of 20:35.8 to secure eighth place.
Juniors Lotte Gertler (21:08.3) and Annabelle Walker (21:17.1), and sophomore Olivia Rudder (21:27.3) posted solid top 20 times, while Macey Wilson and Kaylee Masden closed with efforts of 22:22.5 and 23:25.2, respectively.
Elsewhere, Cady Schoeck (23:56.9), Jamie Moses (24:13.6), and Jenna Burden (25:34.4) completed Lindsey Wilson's lineup for the weekend.
The women's cross-country team continues its 2022 season in Louisville on October 1 at the Greater Louisville Classic at Tom Sawyer State Park.
