CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky.  – The Lindsey Wilson women's soccer team fell to Campbellsville 5-1 in the Battle of Highway 55 Tuesday at Finley Stadium. This marks the first time the Tigers have beaten the Blue Raiders in 31 matchups.

Efua Asabel scored the lone goal for Lindsey Wilson (3-8, 1-2 MSC). Campbellsville (3-5-3, 1-1-1 MSC) outshot the Blue Raiders 16-7 and held an 11-7 edge in shots on goal. Asabel led Lindsey Wilson with three shots while Ashiat Naluggwa added three.

Lindsey Wilson struck first in the in the ninth minute. Asabel received a through ball and was able to get past the Tiger goalkeeper for the goal. Campbellsville tied the game in the 18th minute on a goal from Lina Berrah. The Tigers took the lead in the 24th minute on an Angeline Kieh goal. Campbellsville also scored 30th, 35th and 42nd minute.

Neither team was able to find the back of the net in the final 45 minutes. Lindsey Wilson was outshot 8-3 in the second half and 5-3 in shots on goal.

Lindsey Wilson returns to action on October 18 for a conference matchup Cumberland at Walter S. Reuling Stadium/Ray Wells Field at 5 p.m. CT.
