Box Score LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – The Lindsey Wilson women's soccer team fell to Georgia Gwinnett 2-1 Sunday at the Grizzly Soccer Complex.
Ashiat Naluggwa scored the lone goal for the Blue Raiders (3-10) Gabby Duerson had three saves. Georgia Gwinnett (3-11-1) held a 13-5 edge in shots while having a 5-1 advantage in shots on goal.
The Grizzlies struck first in the 13th minute on a rebound goal from Pernilla Westergren. Georgia Gwinnett scored its second goal with under a minute remaining in the first half. Westergren's corner kick found Saga Andersson who put it into the back of the net. The Grizzlies outshot the Blue Raiders 10-2 in the first 45 minutes.
Lindsey Wilson got on the board in the 50th minute. Naluggwa scored her fifth goal of the season to trim the Blue Raider deficit to 2-1. In the second half, the two teams each had three shots.
The Blue Raiders return to action on Wednesday when they host Georgetown on Senior Night at 5 p.m. CT at Walter S. Reuling Stadium/Ray Wells Field.
