Box Score COLUMBIA, Ky. – Sebastian Tregarthen recorded a hat trick for the No. 5 ranked Blue Raiders in their 6-1 victory over Judson (Ill.) on Monday on Ray Wells Field at Walter S. Reuling Stadium
Lindsey Wilson (2-0-0) held a 17-7 edge in shots over the Eagles (0-1-1) and had a slight 9-6 advantage in shots on goal. Tregarthen scored one goal in the first half and added two more in the second half. Alvaro Verwey, Fabio de Paula, and Monwabisi Mngqibisa also scored for the Blue Raiders. Felix Poschmann added three assists in the victory.
The Blue Raiders struck first in the seventh minute. Poschmann played a ball from just outside the box to a running Verwey who beat the Judson goalkeeper to the far side. The Eagles answered back in the 12th minute. Gabriel Trevisan played a cross into the box off of a freekick where Matheus Duarte headed into the goal. Tregarthen broke the tie in the 33rd minute. Poschman played a longball off a counter-attack to Tregarthen who put in the net on the first touch.
Tregarthen increased the Lindsey Wilson lead to 3-1 with a goal in the 53rd minute. Tregarthen scored his third goal of the match in the 62nd with Poschmann picking up another assist to make it 4-1. De Paula scored in the 84th minute when he took advantage of a mistake by the Judson defender. Mngqibisa gave Lindsey Wilson its sixth goal of the game in the 88th minute with Michael Acquah picking up the assist.
The Blue Raiders are back in action on Friday when they travel to Miami Garden, Florida to take on No. 11 St. Thomas (Fla.) at 6 p.m. CT.
