Men's Soccer Defeats Keiser 3-1 in Top 10 Matchup

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - The No. 5 ranked Lindsey Wilson men's soccer team picked up a 3-1 victory at No. 9 Keiser on Sunday at Arrigo-Veceillo Field.

Michael Acquah, Sadam Masereka and Sebastian Tregarthen all scored for the Blue Raiders (3-1). Pablo Costa recorded four saves in the victory while Felix Poschmann and Masereka each recorded an assist. Lindsey Wilson outshot the Seahawks 15-10 and held a 7-5 edge in shots on goal.

The Blue Raiders came out aggressive in the first 15 minutes and controlled possession. Acquah had a great look in the seventh minute when he fired a one-time shot on goal that was stopped by the Seahawk keeper. Lindsey Wilson got on the board first in the 14th minute. The Blue Raiders played the ball into the box which got the Keiser goalkeeper out of position. Poschmann crossed the ball to Acquah who headed it into the net. The Seahawks best opportunity of the first half came in the 31st minute. Tristian Silva's shot was blocked then Alexander Steen fired the rebound into the net, however it was ruled by the officials that Steen was offsides.

Keiser got its first shot on goal in the 51st minute that was saved by Costa. The Seahawks had a great opportunity for their first goal in the 53rd minute on a header by Timo Boomkens that went just wide. Following a Keiser foul just inside the box, Masereka converted the penalty to increase the Blue Raider lead to 2-0 in the 63rd minute. Tregarthen increased the Lindsey Wilson lead to 3-0 in the 69th minute. Masereka played a low cross that found a running Tregarthen who put it into the back of the net. Keiser got on the board in the 84th on a Blue Raider own goal.

The Blue Raiders are back in action on Sept. 10 when they host West Virginia Tech at 4 p.m. CT at Walter S. Reuling Stadium.
