Men’s Soccer Defeats Georgetown (Ky.) in 5-2 Goal Fest

GEORGETOWN, Ky. – Lindsey Wilson men's soccer secured a decisive 5-2 victory over Georgetown (Ky.) on Friday night at Toyota Stadium, improving their Mid-South Conference record to 2-1-0. The Blue Raiders (5-5-2) capitalized on an early offensive surge and held off a late push by the Tigers (7-3-3) to remain dominant in the all-time series.

The match started quickly for Lindsey Wilson, with Dominic Ayella finding the back of the net in the 11th minute after a well-placed assist from Jaland Larmond. Georgetown responded just five minutes later through Daniel Saer, leveling the score at 1-1. However, Lindsey Wilson reclaimed the lead shortly after, with Sebastian Tregarthen and Michael Rempel each scoring to give the Blue Raiders a 3-1 advantage at halftime.

In the second half, Lindsey Wilson continued to press. Felix Poschmann extended the lead to 4-1 in the 62nd minute with an assist from Juliano Manfro. Georgetown's Mohammed Mouzoune pulled one back for the Tigers in the 69th minute, but a penalty kick from Kenn Muendo in the 83rd minute sealed the 5-2 win for Lindsey Wilson.

Lindsey Wilson's defense, led by goalkeeper Francois Djiba, remained resilient throughout the match, making key saves to hold off Georgetown's attack. Despite conceding twice, the Blue Raiders maintained control and limited the Tigers' chances in the final third.

The Blue Raiders return to action at 7 p.m. CT. Wednesday October 23 to host no. 9-ranked Cumberlands (Ky.) in Columbia, KY at Ray Wells Field Walter S. Reuling Stadium.
