Men’s Basketball Defeats Campbellsville-Harrodsburg 90-68

COLUMBIA, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson men's basketball team defeated Campbellsville-Harrodsburg 90-68 Monday at Biggers Sports Center.

The Blue Raiders (1-0) shot 50.9 percent from the field and limited the Pioneers (1-0) to 38.9 percent from the field. Julian Cunningham scored a game-high 20 points on 7-of-16 shooting and connected on 3-of-6 attempts from beyond the arc. Kenyata Carbon added 15 points while Barrett Burchyett and Connor Robinson each had 12. Olson Nicholson grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds.

The two teams got off to a slow start as there were just 12 points scored in the first seven minutes. Lindsey Wilson led 14-3 following a 10-0 run that lasted 4:04. Following a Pioneer layup to make it 19-9, the Blue Raiders put together another 10-0 run to lead 29-9 with 7:11 to play in the first half. After a Pioneer basket, Lindey Wilson increased its lead to 37-14 scoring eight of the next 11 points. The two teams traded points for the remainder of the half as the Blue Raiders led 44-22.

Leading 48-27 early in the second half, Lindsey Wilson scored nine of the next 11 points to extend their lead to 57-29 with 17:24 to play. The Pioneers scored the next four points before Lindsey Wilson went on a 10-2 run pushing the advantage to 67-35. The Pioneers went on a late 16-5 run trimming the Lindsey Wilson lead to 83-65. The Blue Raiders closed out the game scoring seven of the final 10 points for the 90-68 victory.

Lindsey Wilson is back in action on Friday for day one of the Brady Button Classic against Virginia Lynchburg at 7 p.m. CT at Biggers Sports Center.
