RIO GRANDE, Ohio. - The Lindsey Wilson men's basketball team fell to WVU Tech 70-55 on the first day of the Bevo Francis Classic at Newt Oliver Arena.
The Blue Raiders got off to a strong start scoring 10 of the game's first 12 points. WVU Tech then put together an 8-2 run to make it 12-10 with 12:19 left in the first half. The Golden Bears tied the game at 23 with under six minutes left in the first half. Lindsey Wilson scored nine of the next 13 points. WVU Tech ended the half scoring the final four points to make it 32-31.
Connor Robinson led the Blue Raiders with 11 points in the first half. The Golden Bears put together a strong second half outscoring Lindsey Wilson 39-23. WVU Tech shot 59.3 percent from the field in the final 20 minutes and limited Lindsey Wilson to just 7-of-28 shooting.
Robinson finished with a team-high 15 points while Julian Cunningham added 13. Cunningham and
Jackson Edwards each recorded six rebounds. The Blue Raiders finished the game with a season-low 36.5 percent from the field and 15.8 percent from beyond the arc.
WVU Tech was led by Liam Craven who scored a game-high 23 points while Braden Chapman added 18.
Lindsey Wilson looks to bound back on Saturday at 2 p.m CST as they close out the Bevo Francis Classic against Rio Grande.
