COLUMBIA, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson baseball team hosts Campbellsville this weekend to close out the 2024 home schedule. The Blue Raiders and the Tigers will face off on Friday at 3 p.m. CT Friday, followed by a doubleheader on Saturday Noon CT.
After Saturday's first game, the 2024 Blue Raider baseball seniors will be honored.
The Blue Raiders enter play coming off a 12-11 victory over Tennessee Southern on Tuesday. Lindsey Wilson trailed 11-10 entering the bottom of the ninth before rallying for two runs in the bottom of the ninth capped off by
Chance Stayton's walk-off single.
Lindsey Wilson is 14-22 and 1-11 in Mid-South Conference play.
Jackson Steele is batting .375 against conference competition this season while
Jonathan Barham is batting .343.
Koby Wall has hit four home runs and driven in 10 in conference games while Barham has three home runs and eight RBIs.
On the mound this season,
Cohen Achen has recorded a team-high 77 strikeouts and is averaging 7.7 strikeouts a game. Achen and
Reed Marcum are tied for the team lead in wins with three.
Campbellsville is 20-14 this season and 5-7 in the conference. The Tigers are coming off a 15-5 victory over Pikeville (Ky.) on Wednesday. Chad McCann recorded three hits in the game while five other Tigers had multiple hits.
McCann lead Campbellsville in batting average (.377), RBIs (37) and in home runs with seven. In conference play, Trent Buchanan leads the team with .381 average. On the mound, Tristin Crusenberry leads the Tigers in wins (5), earned run average (3.16) and in strikeouts with 55.
Last season, the Blue Raiders won the season series over the Tigers 2-1 at Egnew Park.
