COLUMBIA, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson men's soccer team heads on the road for a pair of matches this weekend. The Blue Raiders face West Virginia Tech at 6 p.m. CT on Thursday at the YMCA Paul Cline Memorial Sports Complex, followed by Shawnee State at 5 p.m. CT on Saturday at Shawnee Turf.

Lindsey Wilson (1-4-2) is coming off a narrow 3-2 loss to No. 3 Bethel (Ind.), marking their fourth defeat of the season.

West Virginia Tech (1-2-2) is also struggling this season, most recently falling 2-1 to Mount Vernon Nazarene. Christian Piewe scored the Golden Bears' lone goal, with an assist from Fabrizio Balarezo.

Historically, the Blue Raiders have dominated the series against WVU Tech, boasting a perfect 9-0 record. Their most recent meeting ended in a 2-1 victory for Lindsey Wilson in September 2023 in Columbia.

Shawnee State (3-4-1) is coming off a 2-0 defeat to Cumberlands (Ky.). One player to watch is Nikos Pontikis, who has five goals and two assists in eight games this season.
