COLUMBIA, Ky. — The Lindsey Wilson women's soccer team is set to open Mid-South Conference play against (RV) Bethel University (Tenn.) with kickoff scheduled for 5:30 p.m. CT. on September 25th in McKenzie, Tennessee.
The Blue Raiders head into this contest following a narrow 0-1 defeat against Grace College on September 18th. Despite the loss, Lindsey Wilson showcased a resilient defensive effort, effectively limiting Grace's scoring opportunities and demonstrating their strong backline. As the Blue Raiders prepare for Bethel, maintaining that defensive discipline will be crucial, especially against a team that has shown off their offensive capabilities.
On the other side, Bethel comes off a 5-0 victory over Williams Baptist on September 20th, where all five goals were scored by different players. This highlights their versatility and depth in their attacking game, making them another hard opponent for the Blue Raiders. Lindsey Wilson will need to be strategic in their defensive approach, to ensure it contains Bethel's offense.
For Lindsey Wilson, the key to success will not only lie in their defensive organization but also in finding a rhythm in their offensive play. The Blue Raiders will need to create opportunities and capitalize on any openings that can keep Bethel's defense on its toes.
Historically, this will be the 14th meeting between the two programs, with the Blue Raiders having a 12-1 advantage in the series. However, the lone victory for Bethel came last season when the Wildcats edged out Lindsey Wilson 2-1 in Columbia. Bethel is eager to extend its winning streak, while Lindsey Wilson is ready to bounce back and claim victory in their Mid-South Conference opener.
Game coverage will be provided by Bethel University Athletics.
