HENDERSON, Tenn.- The Lindsey Wilson men's basketball team fell to No. 2 Freed-Hardeman
76-69 Saturday at Brewer Sports Center.
Julian Cunningham had a career night scoring 33 points while shooting 7-of-12 from beyond the arc and connecting on 10 of 11 shots from the charity stripe.
Johrdon Mumford was the only
other Blue Raider in double figures with 18 points.
Daivel Jackson tied the game-high in rebounds with six.
The Blue Raiders trailed 11-7 early in the first half before tying the game at 13 with a 6-2 with just over 12 minutes left in the first half. Lindsey Wilson took a 27-26 lead with 4:05 left in the
half after an 8-2 run. The Blue Raiders went into halftime with a 36-35 advantage while shooting 38.7 percent from the field and 56.3 percent from three.
The Lions amped up their defensive intensity in the second half, holding the Blue Raiders to just 26.9 percent shooting from the field. Lindsey Wilson led 48-46 before a Sam Powell three
sparked a 10-3 run to give the Lions a 59-51 lead with 8:45 remaining. Lindsey Wilson answered with five quick points to trim the deficit to 59-56 with 7:39 to play. The Blue Raiders
could not mount a late comeback to pull off the upset.
The Blue Raiders are back in action at 6:30 p.m. CT at (RV) Cumberlands for a 6:30 p.m. CT tipoff.
