MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Lindsey Wilson women's wrestling team finished runner-up at the Red Lady Open Saturday at Garrett Coliseum.
The Blue Raiders tallied 107 points and finished 37 points behind champion Presbyterian (S.C.). Central Methodist (Mo.) finished third with 93 points while Texas Women's University was fourth with 92 points.
Lindsey Wilson had three wrestlers finish runner-up.
Payton Agnell finished second at 110 pounds,
Lexi Ritchie (No. 11 in NAIA at 145 pounds) came in second in the 145-pound bracket and
Alyssa Pinkston finished runner-up at 207 pounds.

Jaelynn McIntosh in the second period to advance to the finals. She was pinned by Presbyterian's Chloe Dearwester (No. 15 in NCAA at 110 pounds) in the first period of the championship match.
Ritchie began her tournament with a first-period pin of Montreat's Uriah Peters-Gutierrez. She then pinned Maegan Flaherty from Texas Women's University in the first period of the quarterfinals. Ritchie advanced to finals with her third-straight pin of Central Methodist's Mina Himmel. In the finals, she fell by pin to Presbyterian's Madeline Kubicki.
Pinkston dropped a 2-1 decision in the first round to Jaycee Portee of Texas Women's University. She then picked up back-to-back first-period pins over Newberry's Avianna Velarde and Emma Lozada from Emory & Henry. Pinkston was pinned by Presbyterian's Maria Aiono (No. 13 in NCAA at 207 pounds) in the final round.
Alyssa Archer finished fourth at 103 pounds. Archer opened her tournament falling 10-0 to Huntingdon's Jordan Epstein. In the consolation semifinals, she earned a 12-1 tech fall over Sloan Stewart from Texas Women's University. Archer dropped a 4-0 decision to Epstein in the third-place match.
Reagan Thomas (No. 12 at 110 pounds) finished fourth at 110 pounds. Thomas fell to Dearwester in the semifinals and pinned Victoria Pena from Texas Women's University in the first period. In the third-place match, she fell to Central Methodist's Toni Avelino (No. 17 in NAIA at 110 pounds) 8-7.
Catherine Head (No. 16 at 117 pounds) came in fourth in the 117 bracket. Head advanced to the semifinals with back-to-back tech falls over Huntingdon's Elizabeth Hollett and Jessalynn Allen. In the semifinals, she fell to Central Methodist's Victoria Nunez 12-2 before pinning teammate
Audrey Smith in the consolation semifinals. Newberry's Emely Mejia-Martinez pinned Head in the third third-place match.
Smith fell 10-0 in the quarterfinals to Ro Adeduntan before earning a 6-5 decision over Hollett in her first consolation match. After losing to Head in the consolation semifinals, she finished fifth after picking up a forfeit victory over Natalia Sanchez.
Sydney Bridenstine (No. 18 at 124 pounds) placed fourth in the 124-pound bracket. Following a 13-0 loss in her first match, Bridenstine recorded back-to-back pins in the consolation rounds to advance to the third-place match. In the third-place match, she was pinned by Evey Hill.
Abigail Vanderheyden finished fourth at 131 pounds. After falling in the first round, Vanderheyden rattled off four-straight victories in the consolation rounds. She won by injury forfeit in her first consolation match and then defeated Montreat's Anna Skoda 10-0. Vanderheyden then pinned Central Methodist's Nonnie Justice (No. 18 in NAIA at 131 pounds) in the first round. She advanced to the third-place match with a 10-0 tech fall over Huntingdon's Angelina Knepp before falling 10-0 to finish fourth.
Ta'Jai Broadnex finished fifth at 138 pounds. Broadnex lost 9-5 in the quarterfinals to Tristin Robinson from Huntingdon and then earned a 12-2 tech fall over Montreat's Charlotte Wheeler. She defeated Cora-Yvette Carr from Texas Women's University 11-1 before falling in the consolation semifinals. She pinned Caden Collett from Huntingdon in the second period in the fifth-place match.
The Blue Raiders are back in action on Wednesday, January 15 when they travel to take on Presbyterian and Life in Marietta, Georgia.
