GRAYSON, Ky. – The 25
th-ranked Lindsey Wilson volleyball team split its two-match slate in Grayson on Saturday afternoon. The Blue Raiders dropped a three-set decision to No. 20 Indiana Kokomo before rebounding to sweep Kentucky Christian.
Senior
Ola Wyrzykowska, only three days after recording her 1,000
th-career dig, surpassed 1,000-career kills during the first set of Lindsey Wilson's first match. She becomes the eighth player in program history to reach the milestone and just the third to have both 1,000-career kills and digs, joining Tiffany Cloud and
Elly Burke.
Wyrzykowska ended the day hitting 0.379 with 28 kills and 11 digs. She was the only Blue Raider to net double-digit kills.
Monika Szwarc and
Luiza Gonçalves chipped in 23 and 19 assists, respectively.
Momo Hampton had a team-high 13 digs, and
Layla HuYoung finished with six digs and five service aces.

Aside from a tough second set, the Blue Raiders did well to hang with the 20
th-ranked Cougars despite the final score.
Wyrzykowska had 11 kills and nine digs, Gonçalves passed out 19 assists, and Hampton tallied nine digs.
Sofija Pjevic led both sides with three blocks as Lindsey Wilson bested Indiana Kokomo 3-2 in team blocks.
The Cougars won the first and third sets 25-21 and 25-20. Both offenses hit plus-0.200 across each set. In the middle frame, however, Indiana Kokomo held Lindsey Wilson to 0.032 and four kills to take the set 25-15.
Match Two: No. 25 Lindsey Wilson 3, Kentucky Christian 0
The Blue Raiders brushed off a close first set to dominate sets two and three en route to their ninth sweep of the season.
After hitting 0.161 and narrowing beating the homestanding Knights 25-22 in the opening set, Lindsey Wilson combined to post a 0.460 attack percentage over the next two sets and cruise to 25-14 and 25-10 scores.
The Blue Raiders also kept Kentucky Christian without an ace while serving for 10 of their own, led by HuYoung with four, and Szwarc and
Cammie Judd with two, apiece.
Wyrzykowska crushed the Knights' defense with 17 kills, Szwarc added 23 assists, and
Duda Becho had two blocks.
Lindsey Wilson is back at Biggers Sports Center at 6 p.m. CT on Tuesday, October 14 to host No. 10 Cumberlands (Ky.) in another Mid-South clash.
