SMYRNA, Tenn. – The Lindsey Wilson men's bowling team competed over the weekend in a pair of Mid-South Conference events. The Blue Raiders placed 12
th out of 17 teams in Saturday's Greater Nashville Open, then improved six spots to finish sixth in Sunday's Brandon Burns Memorial Classic.
On Saturday, Lindsey Wilson tallied a pin fall total of 5,111 through four team games and eight baker games.
Freshman
Connor Woosley rolled a tournament-best 279 in his second game en route to a four-game average of 229.5 and fourth-place overall.
Nick Blakey hit 211 and 233 in his second and third games, respectively, to boost his average to 186.3 for the day. He finished 60
th overall.
Cole Greathouse (169.8) started his day rolling a 181 and ultimately ended up in 77
th place.
Trevor Huff logged a 161.5 average as Lindsey Wilson's highest junior varsity finisher in 86
th place.
Damien Barnett followed close behind in 88
th (160.0).
The next day, the Blue Raiders racked up 5,676 total pins, including the tournament's highest team game total – 1,185 in game four – and the fourth-best baker game score – 257 in game five.
Woosley led Lindsey Wilson with a high score of 259 and four-game average of 216.8 for 12
th place overall.
Blakey came in 15
th place with an average of 214.8. After rolling under 200 his first two games, Blakey finished with a 247 and 245.
John Sisco carded a 215 and 206 as part of his four-game set to earn a 196.8 average in 56
th place. Barnett (73
rd) closed his day with a 243 to bump his mark to 189.0, and Huff (92
nd) topped 200 in his second game on his way to a 172.5 average.
Lindsey Wilson returns to the lanes in the Bulldog Open, hosted by Union Commonwealth (Ky.), on November 22-23.
