MIDWAY, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson men's basketball team came up short against Midway (Ky.) on Tuesday, falling 83-69.

The Blue Raiders (4-1) were led by Julian Cunningham, who scored 18 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Kenyata Carbon added 15 points and a team-high nine rebounds as the only other Raider to reach double figures.

Lindsey Wilson shot efficiently in the first half, hitting 48.3 percent from the field and 44.4 percent from beyond the arc. Both teams traded baskets throughout the half, with neither side able to pull away. The Blue Raiders held a slim 38-37 lead at the break.

Early in the second half, Lindsey Wilson went on a quick 5-0 run to take a 45-40 advantage with 18:25 remaining. Midway (3-1) soon found its rhythm, cutting into the lead. The Eagles' Amari Wales sparked a comeback, scoring four straight points to bring Midway within four. With 7:26 left, Wales drained a three-pointer to tie the game at 57.

The teams continued to battle down the stretch. Cunningham hit a layup with 33 seconds left to give Lindsey Wilson a 69-66 lead, but Wales answered with another three-pointer to tie the game at 69 and force overtime.

In the extra period, the Blue Raiders went cold from the field, failing to score while the Eagles took control to hand Lindsey Wilson its first loss of the season.

Lindsey Wilson returns to action on Saturday, November 15, when they visit Tennessee Southern at 4 p.m. CT.
