PULASKI, Tenn. – The Lindsey Wilson men's basketball team defeated Tennessee Southern 76-55 on Saturday, November 15, inside the Curry Athletic Complex.
The Blue Raiders (5-1) had four players score in double figures, led by Kenyata Carbon with 17 points. Latrell Kyles added 13 points, Lual Lual scored 11, and Julian Cunningham finished with 10.
In the first half, Lual Lual opened the scoring for the Blue Raiders with a contested layup assisted by Cunningham. Both teams traded baskets early, with the score tied midway through the half at the 12:55 mark. Lindsey Wilson then went on a quick 6-2 run sparked by a Carbon three-pointer and capped by a Carbon layup. With 8:12 remaining, the Blue Raiders extended their momentum with an 11-1 run to build a 30-13 lead with 5:26 left in the half. Lindsey Wilson shot efficiently, hitting 46.4 percent from the field and 37.5 percent from beyond the arc, to take a 40-23 lead into halftime.
In the second half, the Blue Raiders continued to control the game, holding the lead for the entire period. Lindsey Wilson built its largest advantage at 25 points, leading 50-25 with 16:04 remaining. The Blue Raiders' defense stayed strong, limiting the Firehawks to just 37.5 percent shooting from the field and 23.1 percent from three-point range. It was a solid bounce-back performance for Lindsey Wilson.
Lindsey Wilson will return to the court for an exhibition game against Lee University (Tenn.) on Monday, November 17, in Cleveland, Tennessee, inside Walker Arena.
