Blue Raiders Cruise Past Simmons (Ky.) 103-81

COLUMBIA, Ky.- The Lindsey Wilson men's basketball team rolled past Simmons (Ky.) 103-81 Wednesday night inside Biggers Sports Center.

Julian Cunningham led the Blue Raiders with 17 points, shooting a perfect 5-for-5 from the field and 3-for-3 from beyond the arc. Four other Blue Raiders scored in double figures as Latrell Kyles finished with 16 points, Kenyata Carbon added 15, Victory Naboya chipped in 13, and DJ Gordon scored 11.

Mihail Gavazov opened the scoring with a three-pointer to put Lindsey Wilson on the board early. The Blue Raiders quickly jumped ahead 6-0 before Simmons answered with a short run to make it 6-5. Lindsey Wilson then found its rhythm, sparked by back-to-back threes from Cunningham to build a 21-10 lead midway through the first half. The Blue Raiders shot an impressive 56.7 percent from the field and 61.5 percent from three in the first half, taking a 49-32 advantage into the break.

The second half brought more of the same as Lindsey Wilson stayed hot, shooting 55.3 percent from the field and 45.5 percent from deep. Simmons briefly cut the lead to 10 early in the half, but the Blue Raiders responded quickly, stretching the margin back to 21 just minutes later. Lindsey Wilson led by as many as 30 points with 7:42 remaining and cruised to the 103-81 victory.

The Blue Raiders return to action Monday, November 24, when they host Midway (Ky.) at 6 p.m. CT inside Biggers Sports Center.
