Blue Raiders Take Down Midway 89-78 for Seventh Win of the Season

COLUMBIA, Ky.- The Lindsey Wilson men's basketball team defeated Midway (Ky.) 89-78 on Monday, November 24, inside Biggers Sports Center.

The Blue Raiders (7-1) had five players score in double figures, led by Mihail Gavazov with 22 points and nine rebounds. Latrell Kyles and Kenyata Carbon each added 16 points, while DJ Gordon scored 12 and Julian Cunningham finished with 11.

Cunningham opened the game with a three at 18:53, followed by another from Gavazov at 18:05 to make it 6-3. Gordon's three at 16:33 extended the lead to 11-3, and by 14:51 Carbon's free throws pushed it to 13-3. The Blue Raiders stayed hot, with threes from Gavazov and Gordon helping build a 50-29 halftime lead.
Midway (3-4) fought hard behind Decoreio Smith, who led all scorers with 23 points, including five threes. Amari Wales added 15 points and eight rebounds, while Oghenemaro Egodotaye chipped in nine off the bench.

In the second half, Victory Naboya scored inside at 19:21 and Kyles capped a 6-1 run at 17:22 to make it 55-34. Gavazov and Pach helped extend the lead to 63-39 before Midway trimmed it to 66-56 midway through the half. Lindsey answered with baskets from Carbon and Kyles, pushing it to 76-63. Despite a few late threes from Midway, the Blue Raiders held firm as Carbon, Cunningham, and Gordon hit key free throws before Gordon's layup at 00:21 sealed the 89-78 win.

The Blue Raiders will be back on the court at 1 p.m. CT Saturday, November 29, when they face No. 10 Dalton State College (Ga.) inside Bandy Gym in Dalton, Georgia.
