Blue Raiders Host Braves in NAIA Second Round

COLUMBIA, Ky.- Men's Soccer hits the field at 5 P.M. CT to face Ottawa (Kan.) at Parnell Family Stadium on Saturday in the Second Round of the NAIA National Tournament. 

Lindsey Wilson enters the tournament at 12-3-1 on the season, with its most recent match being on November 5, in a 3-0 loss in the Mid-South Conference Semifinals against Bethel (Tenn.). Dominic Ayella has posted 10 goals on the season to lead the offense, along with four assists. Michael Rempel leads the Blue Raiders in assists with seven on the season while also adding three goals. Francois Djiba protects the net for Lindsey Wilson, holding a 9-1-1 record, saving 41 shots while allowing 11 goals. 

LWU averages 2.50 goals a game while conceding only 0.94 goals a game to opponents. The Blue Raiders hold a .397 shots-on-goal percentage, with 126-of-317 shots being registered as on goal. 

Ottawa (14-2-6) earned its spot in the second round after defeating Harris-Stowe (Mo.) 1-0 on Wednesday evening. The Braves' offense is led by Antonio Natalucci with 15 goals on the season, including the game winning goal against Harris-Stowe in the first round. Jevan Purcell-Jackson has also hit double-digits in the goal category with 11 goals. Alonso Basauri heads the assist column with 17, including the assist on Natalucci's first round goal, while tacking on eight goals as well. David Martinez (9-0-6) has spent the most time in goal, tallying 61 saves, and allowing 21 goals. 

Ottawa averages 3.05 goals a game while holding opponents to 1.14 goals. The Braves have registered 182-of-376 shots on goal, yielding a .484 shots on goal percentage. 

This marks the first match-up between the Braves of Ottawa and the Blue Raiders of Lindsey Wilson. 

Men's Soccer will kickoff at 5 P.M. CT on Saturday at Parnell Family Stadium against the Braves of Ottawa.
