COLUMBIA, Ky. - Lindsey Wilson men's soccer student-athlete
Michael Rempel has been named to the College Sports Communicators Academic Men's Soccer Academic All-America First Team, CSC officials announced Tuesday.
Rempel, a senior from Asunción, Paraguay, majors in interdisciplinary studies and has a 3.56 GPA. He earns Academic All-America honors for the first time in his career and is the fourth Blue Raider to earn the honor, and first since Aleksi Pahkasalo in 2016.
He is one of 12 student-athletes to earn the honor with the First Team Selections, posting a combined 3.85 GPA.
Rempel scored three goals and chipped in seven assists, but made his presence felt even more on defense as he anchored five shutouts. His efforts earned him a second consecutive Mid-South Conference Defensive Player of the Year award, a spot on the All-Conference First-Team, and a NAIA All-American Second Team honor.
