COLUMBIA, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson men's basketball team was defeated by No. 19 Cumberlands (Ky.) 94-78 on in a Mid-South Conference matchup Thursday at Biggers Sports Center.
Connor Robinson led the Blue Raiders (15-10, 2-7 MSC) scoring 16 points while connecting on 3-of-6 from beyond the arc and converting on all five of his free throws.
Daivel Jackson was 6-of-9 from the field scoring 14 points while Kenyata Carabon also scored 14.
Isaac Weaver was the final Blue Raider in double figures with 10 points.
The Patriots (18-5, 7-1) got out to an early 5-3 lead before the Blue Raiders used a 9-2 run to take a 12-7 lead with 17:06 to play in the first half. Cumberlands responded scoring six of the next eight points to make it 14-13 with 13:30 remaining. Lindsey Wilson led 22-18 before the Patriots rattled off eight-straight points to take a 26-22 advantage. The Blue Raiders scored nine of the next 13 points to go back in front 31-30 with 4:16 to play in the half. Cumberlands ended the first half on a 15-4 run to take a 45-35 lead.
With the score at 53-43 in the second half, Cumberlands took control of the game with a 14-3 run increasing its lead to 67-46 with 13:21 remaining. Later in the second half, the Patriots took their largest lead of the game at 86-58 with 7:47 to play after an 8-0 run. Lindsey Wilson then scored eight of the next 10 points to make it 88-66. The Blue Raiders ended the game scoring seven of the final nine points.
