Baseball Drops Two Games To Close Out Weekend Series With Indiana Tech

COLUMBIA, Ky.- Blue Raiders fall to 1-14 on the season as they drop day-two games 17-2 and 9-5 in series against Indiana Institute of Technology at Egnew Park.

Andres Duran and Tray Price had the hot bats today as Duran went yard in game one and Price had a solo shot in game two. Bryce Sidler also picked up a scored run and an RBI in game two. 

In game one Kyle Lambert gave up nine runs on five hits in 3.2 innings pitched, as well as eight walks and three strikeouts. Mason Malone pitched 6.0 innings in game two, only allowing four runs on seven hits, with three strikeouts and two walks. 


Game One: Indiana Tech 17, Lindsey Wilson 2
Lindsey Wilson got on the board early in the bottom of the first frame on a two-run home run from Duran over the center field wall, giving them the early 2-0 advantage. Indiana Tech answered back in the top of the third with five runs on two hits, taking the 5-2 edge. 

Indiana Tech continued their scoring run, tacking on four runs on three hits and leaving two on base, for a 9-2 lead. 

The Blue Raiders fell in game one 17-2 after Indiana Tech tallied eight more runs in the top of the seventh and Lindsey Wilson was held scoreless after the first inning. 

Game Two: Indiana Tech 9, Lindsey Wilson 5 
Price led off for the Blue Raiders, connecting on a triple down the right field line. Chance Stayton stepped up to the plate, singling into left field, scoring Price to give LWC the early 1-0 lead. The Blue Raiders weren't done yet as Sidler singled through the left side, scoring Caden Davis, who entered to pinch run for Stayton, taking an early 2-0 lead. 

The Warriors answered back in the top of the third frame with five runs on four hits and two left on base to take a 5-2 edge. With runners on first and third for the Blue Raiders in the bottom of the fourth, Jackson Steele hit a SAC-fly to center field, scoring Diego Andino from third, cutting the deficit to 5-3. 

Indiana Tech took an 8-3 lead in the top of the fifth on three hits, but Price had an answer with a solo shot over the left field wall, cutting the Warrior lead back down to 8-4. 

After Indiana Tech extended the lead to 9-4 in the top of the sixth, the Blue Raiders answered back in the bottom of the eighth as Sidler hit a lead-off double and scored on a single up the middle from Maddox Terrance, trailing 9-5. 

Blue Raider baseball will be back in action at 2 pm CST on Tuesday in Egnew Park as they take on the 8-9 Bears of Pikeville (Ky.).
