Baseball Closes Out Conference Series With Bethel With 10-3 Loss

MCKENZIE, Tenn.- The Lindsey Wilson baseball team closed out their Mid-South Conference series with Bethel (Tenn.), falling 10-3 Saturday afternoon in Wildcat Park.

Andres Duran led the Blue Raiders at the plate going 1-for-2 on the day with a home run and three RBIs. Bryce Sidler, Matt Schultz, and Amir Pineiro also tallied a hit in todays game. 

Bethel scored first, posting a two run first inning to lead 2-0, and tacking on a single run in the bottom of the fourth to lead 3-0. 

Lindsey Wilson got the bats going in the top of the seventh, trailing 3-0. Sidler singled to give the Blue Raiders a base runner with one out. Duran stepped up to the plate, connecting on a two-run home run to cut the Blue Raider Deficit to 3-2. The Wildcats were able to tally seven more runs in the bottom of the frame, extending their lead to 10-2..

Pineiro led off the top of the eighth with a single, with Caden Davis coming in to pinch run at first. Tray Price stepped into the batter's box and put the ball in play to the shortstop, reaching first on a fielder's choice, with Davis being called out at second. Drake Young drew the walk, advancing Price to second with Sidler coming to the plate. Sidler was hit by a pitch, loading the bases for Duran. Duran put the ball in play back to the pitcher and reached first on an error, advancing the base runners, and scoring Price from third, to cut the deficit to 10-3. 

Lindsey Wilson was held scoreless in the top of the ninth, and fell to Bethel 10-3 to close out the MSC road series.

The Blue Raider baseball team will be back in action on Tuesday, to face Brescia at Chautauqua Park in Owensboro Kentucky, with the time of the first pitch to be announced.
