COLUMBIA, Ky. – Earlier this month, the Lindsey Wilson swimming program hosted its annual awards banquet at the Roberta D. Cranmer Dining & Conference Center. The evening is dedicated to honoring Blue Raiders student-athletes for their commitment, achievement, and excellence during the 2024-25 season.
Freshman
Adam Lamhiti and senior
Karolina Bidnik were voted "Weight Room King and Queen" for their efforts in the weight room.
Juniors
Daniel Wytwer and
Sara Motyl received awards as "Most Dedicated," and freshmen
Sergio Ybarra and
Nathalie Medina earned "Rookie of the Year" honors.
The men's "Performance of the Year" was awarded to sophomore
Clinton Eales for his win in the 200-yard breaststroke at the Mid-South Conference Championships, becoming just the second Lindsey Wilson male all-time to claim a Mid-South title in the event. Junior
Kirsten de Goede garnered the women's "Performance of the Year" award thanks to her NAIA record-breaking and national championship-winning swim in the 100-yard freestyle. Her mark of 48.91 seconds is the first under 49 seconds by a female in NAIA history.
Graduate senior
Maaike Broersma and Ybarra claimed "High Point" awards, while Broersma and sophomore
Ethan Butler were tabbed "Swimmers of the Year." Butler placed sixth in the 1,650-yard freestyle at the NAIA National Championships and earned three top-five finishes at the conference meet. Broersma secured four national championships and eight total All-American accolades. She was also named the NAIA and CSCAA women's Swimmer of the Year.
