COLUMBIA, Ky. – Lindsey Wilson women's wrestling head coach Devane Dodgens announced the hiring of Liliana Vergara as the program's new assistant coach on Tuesday.

"We are thrilled to welcome Liliana to our program," expresses Dodgens. "Her passion for the sport, proven leadership, and commitment to athlete development makes her an incredible addition to our team."

Vergara graduated from Campbellsville University (Ky.) this past spring where she wrestled for the Tigers while pursuing her master's degree in computer science.

Competitively, Vergara was a three-time NAIA All-American, including her junior season, the 2021-22 campaign, in which Campbellsville captured its second consecutive NAIA National Invitational championship.

During the 2024-25 season, Vergara posted a 16-3 duals record, and a 5-3 postseason record en route to a runner-up finish at the Mid-South Conference championships. She went on to garner fifth place at the NAIA National Championships and seventh place at the United States Open.

"Her resume speaks for itself," says Dodgens. "She will be a game changer in our room in terms of brining a winning and growing culture for our student-athletes."
