Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men's Soccer Wins Home Opener

The No. 12 ranked Lindsey Wilson men's soccer teams started their 2025 campaign with a 2-0 victory on Friday over SCAD-Savannah (Ga.) on Ray Wells Field at Walter S. Reuling Stadium.

Francois Djiba had six saves on the night, alongside goals from Dominic Ayella and Paseka Maile to aid in the Blue Raiders 2-0 victory. Lindsey Wilson took a total of 21 shots with six being on goal.

Both teams took a massive defensive stand not allowing a single goal in the first half. The Blue Raiders took a total of 13 shots compared to SCAD-Savannah's four with both teams registering three shots on goal. Fouls played a vital part of the first 45 minutes of action with the Bee's tallying nine to Lindsey Wilson's five. A red card was delivered to SCAD's German Moreno in the 29th minute forcing them to finish the match with just 10 players on the field.

Lindsey Wilson, not being able to capitalize on the Bee's being down a man, the first 45 minutes concluded with the score dead-locked at 0-0 headed into halftime.

With the score remaining 0-0 well into the second half, the Blue Raiders believed they had ended the stalemate with a goal in the 65th minute, however it was ruled offside.

The Blue Raiders struck first in the 75th minute with Ayella finding the opening and connecting on a goal deflecting the ball off a SCAD defender and into the net giving the Blue Raiders a 1-0 lead.  Less than 10 minutes later, Maile scored a goal in the 83rd minute to increase the Blue Raider advantage to 2-0 with seven minutes left in regulation.

Lindsey Wilson will be back in action at 7 pm CT Monday to take on No. 10 Indiana Wesleyan on Ray Wells Field at Walter S. Reuling Stadium.
