DECATUR, Ala. – The Lindsey Wilson women's soccer team fell 2-1 to fifth-ranked William Carey (Miss.) on Saturday at the Jack Allen Soccer Complex.

The Crusaders (3-0) edged the Blue Raiders (1-2) in a competitive matchup, holding a narrow 12-8 advantage in shots and making the most of their opportunities to stay unbeaten.

William Carey struck early when Alessia Navarro scored in the fourth minute to give the Crusaders a 1-0 lead. The Blue Raiders responded just after halftime as Sharon Nadunga found the equalizer in the 46th minute. However, the Crusaders regained control in the 63rd minute when Karen Vilau netted the game-winner.

Despite building momentum after Nadunga's goal, Lindsey Wilson was unable to generate another scoring opportunity following William Carey's second strike.

The Blue Raiders return to action on Saturday, September 6, in a neutral-site matchup against No. 16 Oklahoma Wesleyan at 11 a.m. CT in Jackson, Tennessee.
