COLUMBIA, Ky.- No.7-Ranked Lindsey Wilson defeated No.16-Ranked Marian (Ind.) 2-1 on Ray Wells Field at Walter S. Reuling Stadium, Friday night. 

Mao Wong led the Blue Raider offense scoring two goals, with Michael Rempel picking up assists on both. Francois Djiba picked up the win moving to 4-0-1, saving six of the seven shots he faced. 

The Blue Raiders had a chance to strike first off of a penalty kick in the 6th minute by Dominic Ayella, which was defended cleanly by Mateo Garcia-Galan. Marian scored first in the 29th minute on a goal from Gustavo Nunez off of a penalty kick to lead Lindsey Wilson 1-0. After a back and forth defensive battle, the Blue Raiders found the equalizer in the 38th minute from Ayella on an assist from Juliano Manfro to lock the score at 1-1 headed into the half. 

Lindsey Wilson outshot the Knights in the first 45 minutes of action 16-6, tallying six on goal. 

To begin the second half of action, Rempel lined up for a corner kick in the 52nd minute, finding Wong for a header in the box to give the Blue Raiders their first lead of the night at 2-1. In the 87th minute, Rempel found Wong off of a corner kick again for another header to extend the lead to 3-1. Lindsey Wilson outshot Marian 26-9 on the night, tallying 10 shots on goal. 

Men's soccer will be back in action Tuesday at 7 P.M. CT to begin Mid-South Conference play against Georgetown (Ky.) on Ray Wells Field at Walter S. Reuling Stadium.
