Spring Arbor, Mich. – The Lindsey Wilson women's soccer team fell 3-1 to No. 13 Spring Arbor on Saturday at the Cougar Soccer Complex.

The Blue Raiders stuck to their attacking game plan, recording 12 total shots with six on goal, while the Cougars finished with nine shots, also placing six on target.

Lindsey Wilson came out firing early as Ashiat Naluggwa took a shot just 1:40 into the match. Naluggwa tested the defense again in the 15th minute, but her attempt went wide right. Spring Arbor capitalized on the missed opportunities when Karly Miller broke through to give the Cougars a 1-0 lead. The Blue Raiders answered in the 38th minute as Paola Giusti netted her first goal of the season off an assist from Amanda Parreiras, leveling the score at 1-1.

The second half brought more action. Naluggwa took another shot in the 51st minute, but the Spring Arbor goalkeeper made the save. Just a few minutes later, in the 55th minute, Claire VanZanten scored to give the Cougars the lead again. Lindsey Wilson kept pushing but couldn't tie the game, and VanZanten added another goal late to seal the 3-1 win for Spring Arbor.

The Blue Raiders return to action at 5 p.m. CT on September 24 when they travel to (RV) Campbellsville University in a Mid-South Conference rivalry matchup.
