CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky.- The Blue Raiders defeated Campbellsville (Ky.) 2-1 Wednesday night in the Battle of Highway 55 at Finley Stadium. 

Michael Rempel and Milan Diao led the offense for Lindsey Wilson with a goal apiece. Francois Djiba picked up the win, moving to 7-0-1 on the season, 2-0 in Mid-South Conference play. Djiba faced six shots, recording five saves. 

After a back-and-forth defensive battle, the Blue Raiders struck first in the 40th minute after Rempel converted on a free kick. Less than two minutes later, Diao extended the LWU lead to 2-0 in the 41st minute. 

Lindsey Wilson outshot Campbellsville (5-1, 1-1 MSC) 10-6 in the first half, tallying four shots on goal and converting on two for the 2-0 edge headed into halftime. 

Campbellsville was able to find the back of the net in the 89th minute to cut the Blue Raider lead to 2-1, ending the Blue Raiders defensive streak of not conceding a goal in the second half this season. The Blue Raiders totaled 11 shots in the final 45 minutes with five being on goal. 

LWU outshot CU 21-12, with nine shots being considered on goal, yielding a 0.429 shot on goal percentage. 

The Blue Raiders will be back in action Wednesday, Oct.1 against No.13-ranked Cumberland (Tenn.) at 7 P.M. CT on Ray Wells Field inside Walter S. Reuling Stadium.
