COLUMBIA, Ky- Lindsey Wilson University Director of Track & Field Anthony Thompson
announced the addition of Coach Dorian Tolbert to the coaching staff as an assistant coach
specializing in throws and multi-events.
"We are thrilled to welcome Coach Tolbert to the Blue Raider family," Thompson said. "We truly
believe he will bring his championship-caliber philosophy to our students on and off the throwing
circle. The potential for our throws and multis event groups has risen!"
Most recently, Tolbert served as Assistant Coach at Lenoir-Rhyne University (2024–2025).
During his time there, he coached two NCAA All-Americans, helped the program to two runner-
up conference championships, guided 20 athletes to conference qualification, supported a
Conference Field Athlete of the Year, and managed recruiting, equipment, and facilities. He also
coached professional athlete Jacob Wadsworth in the throws portion of the Heptathlon and
Decathlon, contributing to his seventh-place finish at the 2025 USA Indoor Championship.
Tolbert, a graduate of Pelham High School, went on to earn his bachelor's degree in Accounting
from the University of Mount Olive in 2023 and an MBA in Business Administration in 2025. His
academic and athletic background has shaped his passion for developing student-athletes both
on and off the field.
"First and foremost, I would like to thank Coach Thompson for the tremendous opportunity,"
Tolbert said. "I'm thankful to be at Lindsey Wilson University! My main goal is to make athletes
into the best version of themselves physically, mentally, and emotionally!"
