COLUMBIA, Ky.- No.7 Lindsey Wilson defeated No.23 Rio Grande (Ohio) 5-0 Saturday night on Ray Wells Field at Walter S. Reuling Stadium. 

Dominic Ayella, Milan Diao, Elvis Eddy Mwanje, Paseka Maile, and Denilson Macon all contributed a goal in the shutout. Diao, Juliano Manfro, and Maile all tacked on an assist. 

The Blue Raiders struck first in the 31st minute on an assist from Diao to Ayella for the 1-0 lead. In the 39th minute Diao put his name in the goal column on an assist from Manfro off a cross extending the lead to 2-0. 

LWU outshot the Red Storm 10-2 in the first 45 minutes of action with six being on goal, aiding in the 2-0 edge for Lindsey headed into the half. 

Lindsey Wilson attacked quickly out of the break on a goal by Mwanje in the 47th minute to push the lead to 3-0. In the 78th minute, Maile got deep in the box finding the back right corner of the net to extend Lindsey Wilson's advantage to 4-0. Maile once again got a touch on the ball finding Macon for a goal, picking up an assist in the 83rd minute pushing the lead to 5-0.  

The Blue Raiders outshot the Red Storm 22-9 in the match, tallying a total of 13 shots on goal to Rio Grande's four. 

Men's soccer will be back in action against No. 16 Marian (Ind.) on Friday, Sept. 12 at 7 P.M. CT on Ray Wells Field at Walter S. Reuling Stadium.
